new growth
ground floor arts window march 11 - april 19, 2026
New Growth is a suspended installation of wire armatures enveloped in repurposed textiles, fibre scraps, and wet-felted wool. These organic forms suggest seed pods, skeletons, or cocoons mid-transformation.
The work draws on cycles of decay and regeneration in nature, proposing that endings are rarely final. Discarded materials - including remnants from a deconstructed body of my earlier work - are reassembled into a new installation. Rigid wire and chain offer support, while dense, moss- like fibre accumulates and spreads across them - a growth that both depends on and may overtake its framework.
